Police offer reward for information in shooting death of Salt Lake woman

SALT LAKE CITY — Unified police announced a $1,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the killing of a woman whose body was found near the Great Saltair in August.

Akosita Kaufusi, 42, of Salt Lake City, was found by a jogger off of the Frontage Road at the edge of Salt Lake County on Aug. 29.

Detectives believe she was murdered around Aug. 14, and her remains were left in the area for two weeks.

A medical examiner determined that Kaufusi had been shot to death.
