The Iowa caucus begins on Monday, giving Iowa voters their first chance to voice support for who they believe can be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2020.
Why it matters: The Democratic primary will offer the nation its first chance to see who has been most successful in the party’s 2020 campaign to race against President Donald Trump:
What about Utah?: The Beehive State won’t have its presidential primary until March 3.
- That is exactly eight months before the general presidential election on Nov. 3.
Some things to note: All voters can vote in the Democratic primary election for Utah. But only Republican Party voters can pick their GOP party candidate, according to Vote.Utah.gov.
- Voters can’t vote in both primaries. Only one.
