SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake City man killed in an early morning crash in Parleys Canyon on Saturday has been identified.

Evan Thomas, 23, was driving an SUV west in an eastbound lane on I-80 about 3:30 a.m. when he hit a semitrailer head-on, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Troopers say Thomas appeared not to have been wearing a seat belt at the time. He was partially ejected and sustained fatal injuries.
