During the tradition observed by many Christian faiths, worshippers receive palm fronds as part of a reenactment of Jesus Christ’s arrival in Jerusalem, when his followers threw clothes and possibly palms in front of him, just days before his crucifixion. Palm Sunday begins Holy Week.
