David Kelly, chairman the Pioneer Park Coalition, shows Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera some of the face masks being donated to inmates at the Salt Lake County Jail during an event at the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office in South Salt Lake on Monday. The masks were made by members of the Utah’s Vietnamese community to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The jail has been striving to obtain 3,000 cloth face masks to ensure each prisoner in Oxbow and Metro jails have access to two masks each. This will allow inmates to alternate daily with a freshly laundered mask.
