Farr West Elementary School reworks its end-of-year ritual amid COVID-19 pandemic

Scott G Winterton, Deseret News

Kim Kennington, a school counselor at Farr West Elementary in Farr West, Weber County, uses a pool noodle with a scarf tied to it to wave to students and their parents as they drive past the school on the last day of classes on Friday. But this year, due to the spread of COVID-19, the teachers had to come up with another plan, hence Friday’s parade.
