FORT DUCHESNE, Uintah County — A man died Sunday morning in a crash in Uintah County, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. on 7000 South to the south of Fort Duchesne, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The driver, 30, missed a curve in the road and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

The driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, weren’t wearing seat belts and were ejected during the crash. The woman was able to walk away to find help, officials said. When she returned, the man was dead.

His name was not immediately released.

Alcohol and speed were suspected factors in the crash, according to the statement.

The woman was taken to Uintah Basin Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Her condition as of Sunday evening was not available.
