WOODS CROSS — Police say an intoxicated man pointed a rifle at a woman and her children because he felt she was playing her car radio too loud.
Joseph Brent Whyte, 59, of Woods Cross, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a restricted person and intoxication.
Whyte was seen by several witnesses coming out of a house with a firearm and confronting a neighbor “about the music coming from her vehicle. (She) stated the male then pointed the gun at her and stated, ‘You are going to die or turn the music down, your choice,’” according to a police booking affidavit.
Neighbors told police they saw Whyte “with a rifle-type gun pointed at the direction of the victim and two children that were in the front yard,” the affidavit states.
Police say Whyte had a blood alcohol level of 0.26% at the time of his arrest.
