HOLLADAY — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help replace some of the funds that will be lost due to the cancellation of this year’s Carmelite Fair.

Since 1953, the Carmelite nuns have held a community fundraiser that evolved into the Carmelite Fair. Money raised at the fair helps cover medical and housing expenses, as well as the nuns’ vocation of contemplative prayer.

In addition to making a donation on the GoFundMe site at charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/carmelite-nuns-fundraiser, people can purchase homemade jams, candies and other goods directly through the monastery’s website carmelslc.org.

The fair is set to resume in September 2021.
