SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police allege a South Salt Lake man had child pornography on his iPad and may have been communicating with juveniles.
Alireza Kaffe Lotfi, 51, was arrested Monday for investigation of three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that child porn had been uploaded to a Google account, according to a police affidavit.
Police traced the account to Lotfi and served a search warrant on his Google account, where they found images of child porn, including a girl who was approximately 10 years old, the affidavit states. The account also “contained a sexually explicit conversation” between Lotfi and another person who may be a juvenile, according to the affidavit.
At Lotfi’s home, police found two videos of child pornography on his iPad, the affidavit states.
When questioned about the Google account, “he stated he made a mistake by communicating with that person and exchanging photographs with that person. Alireza also stated there were possibly other images on other electronic devices found in his residence.”
