PLEASANT GROVE — A new fire ignited Sunday in Battle Creek Canyon east of Pleasant Grove, officials said.

The fire started about 12:30 p.m. and was estimated at 50 acres with no reported containment, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Four fire engines and multiple air tankers fought the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown. No structures were threatened, firefighters said.

Officials asked residents not to report the fire, as smoke was visible from I-15 and cities in Utah County. Firefighters also asked residents not to fly drones or personal aircraft in the area.
