Logan Yeager slides through a splash pad with a sprinkler perimeter in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. According to a tweet from the National Weather Service, as of 4:31 p.m., Salt Lake City reached a high of 101, breaking the previous daily record of 99 set in 1932. According to KSL meteorologist Kevin Eubank, residents along the Wasatch Front can look for mostly sunny skies in the mornings but partly cloudy skies in the afternoons over the next few days. A few thunderstorms will pop up over the higher elevations on Wednesday and Thursday, cooling things off just a bit. The high on Wednesday is expected to hit 101 before dropping to 98 on Thursday and Friday. Triple-digit heat will return on Saturday.
