SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl has been charged.

Ahmed Muhidin Ahmed, 23, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with two counts of rape of a child, a first-degree felony.

The victim told police she met Ahmed on social media in January, according to charging documents. In July, she allowed Ahmed to come to her house, at which time she was raped, the charges state. She was also raped during a second visit in July, according to the charges.

In August, when the girl told Ahmed she was sick, he brought her “a pregnancy test and a plan B pill,” the charges state.

Ahmed was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. Prosecutors are requesting he be held on $450,000 bail.

In July 2019 Ahmed was convicted in 3rd District Court of aggravated assault for punching and kicking his mother and hitting her with a metal baseball bat, according to court records. A warrant was issued for his arrest on May 19 for failing to comply with the conditions of his probation.
