PROVO — A man already facing charges of child sex abuse now faces additional counts of possessing child pornography.

Ronald Lee Wiggins, 37, of Spanish Fork, was charged Thursday in 4th District Court with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

In May, Wiggins was arrested for allegedly abusing a 13-year-old girl under the guise of practicing a meditation known as chakra. He was charged in that case with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony; enticing a minor by text, a second-degree felony; and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.

According to new charging documents, on July 30 investigators were reviewing the “electronic media” seized as part of the abuse case and found “three pictures of female children between the ages of 12-14 years of age. The nature of each picture was a lascivious exhibition of nudity.”

Investigators believe Wiggins obtained the pictures after his arrest on May 26, the charges state.
