WEST VALLEY CITY — A woman critically injured in a crash on the Mountain View Corridor over the weekend has died.

Katey Darling, 22, of Magna, died as a result of her injuries, West Valley police announced Monday. A 20-year-old man also injured in the crash remained in critical condition.

The incident happened Sunday about 5:30 p.m. A Ford Fiesta being driven by the man with Darling in the passenger seat was traveling west on 5400 South when it ran a red light at the Mountain View Corridor and was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup headed south, according to West Valley police.

Both Darling and the driver suffered head injuries and were transported to a local hospital in extremely critical conditions. Darling was later removed from life support and passed away, police stated.
