A construction worker climbs a ladder to safety after crews from Unified Fire’s Heavy Rescue Company worked to free him when dirt and rock trapped him in a trench for nearly three hours in Riverton on Saturday. Unified Fire Authority reported the man was in good condition when he was freed, but was transported to a hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
