OGDEN — A man walking his bike across a darkly lit Ogden street was killed Monday after police say he was struck at by a car.
Sometime after 7 p.m., police say the man was riding his bike eastbound on 28th Street near the intersection of Wall Avenue in Ogden.
At some point the man, who Ogden police say was his 60s, dismounted his bike while crossing the street. Shortly after he was struck by a car traveling north on Wall Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the man, whose identity was not released Monday night, was wearing dark clothing in a poorly lit section of road with no crosswalks and no traffic lights.
The driver was cooperating with officers, police said, and impairment did not appear to be a contributing factor.
