SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police are investigating after a woman reported she had shot and killed her husband Friday night.

Emily Fisher, 46, called police at about 11:50 p.m. and “said she shot her husband and thinks she may have killed him,” Danielle Croyle, spokeswoman for South Salt Lake police, said on Saturday. Croyle said the woman’s husband, who was 66, was shot multiple times and was dead at the scene.

A handgun was found at the scene, police said, and an investigation is ongoing.

Fisher was booked at the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder and violating firearm restrictions as a convicted felon.

Croyle said police questioned an unrelated witness to the shooting. They did not immediately release the name of the man, but said there was no history of domestic violence at the address, which is in the 500 West block of Billinis Road.
