WEST JORDAN — One person was killed and another injured in a four-car crash in West Jordan Thursday morning.
Just after 7 a.m., a Honda SUV heading west on 9000 South drifted into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason near 1075 West, said West Jordan police detective Scott List.
The vehicle side-swiped one car headed east, then hit a second vehicle head-on, and finally hit a third vehicle, List said.
The driver of the Honda, Ryan Vlaardingerbroe, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle hit was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and later released, according to List.
What caused the driver to drift into oncoming traffic was still being investigated Thursday.
