One man is dead and two people were injured in a car crash on Redwood Road Wednesday night.
A small car with two people inside was southbound on Redwood Road when the vehicle made a left-hand turn and collided with a northbound SUV at the intersection of 400 South, Salt Lake City Police Lt. Wierman said.
The male passenger in the car was killed, according to Wierman. The drivers of the small car and the SUV were taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. A medical helicopter was also called to the scene.
Police didn’t say how many people were in the SUV.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, said Wierman.
All directions of 400 South Redwood Road were closed, according to Utah Department of Transportation. At 10 p.m., police estimated the road would be closed for another two to three hours.
Further information, including the name of the passenger who was killed, were not released.
