A young adult driver was killed early Sunday when another vehicle hit the car as it was making a U-turn in Salt Lake City.
Two cars were racing on 900 South near 3000 West just before 1 a.m. when a third car, driven by an unidentified person in their mid-20s, attempted a U-turn in front of them, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Lisa Pascadlo. She said the driver was taken to the hospital but died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver who was illicitly racing and struck the car remained at the scene but has not yet been arrested, Pascadlo said, adding that police were awaiting results of a toxicology report before making any conclusions.
