Students at Magna Elementary School on Tuesday each received a backpack filled with school supplies thanks to Vivint Smart Home and the Granite Education Foundation.

The giveaway was part of Vivint Gives Back, the charitable arm of the Lehi-based company.

Thanks to more than $1 million in Vivint customer and employee donations, 8,000 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given to students in the Granite School District, where, according to the foundation, more than half of students live at or below the poverty level.
