Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson on Wednesday hosted a naturalization ceremony with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services where 40 people became American’s newest citizens during a naturalization ceremony at the Kearns Library in Kearns.

In addition to taking the oath of allegiance, the ceremony included the reading of a proclamation signed by local mayors throughout Salt Lake County declaring Sept. 9-18 as Welcoming Week.
