Photo gallery: Fairgoers pay tribute to fallen officers, celebrate 100 years of tradition

Wednesday evening’s Box Elder Fair Parade was more emotional than previous parades during the county fair’s rich 100-year history, but it was important for area residents to gather and be together.

The parade traveled down its usual route through Tremonton, this time packed with somber emotion as the lives of Tremonton/Garland Police Sgt. Lee Sorensen and officer Eric Estrada were honored. Residents stood in silence as riderless horses traveled along the route as a tribute to the two fallen officers, who died late Sunday in the line of duty.

Deseret News photojournalist Scott G Winterton captured the moments in images.
