While walking alongside North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, a surprising hot mic conversation was caught between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Beijing, Putin and Xi were caught discussing advances in biotechnology. Putin’s interpreter, speaking in Chinese, noted how “biotechnology is continuously developing” and shared the Russian president’s perspective that “human organs can be continuously transplanted.” He later added that “the longer you live, the younger you become, and (you can) even achieve immortality.”

Xi later responded by saying “some predict that in this century humans may live to 150 years old.”

Contradicting this was Dr. Jim Markmann, president of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons Executive Council, who told Fox News that “transplantation of vital organs is a lifesaving and life-prolonging procedure for patients with organ failure. There is no scientific evidence that it promotes immortality, nor that humans could realistically reach 150 years of age through transplants.”
