Students in the Fire Science Program at Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers put their training to the test this week with an endurance/skills challenge on Wednesday at the Magna Unified Fire Training Tower in Magna.
The students, along with their Unified Fire instructor and other support crews, learned how to navigate out of confined spaces in a training maze, how to manage attack lines inside a building, and how to safely operate ground ladders. The firefighters-to-be also experienced hands-on training in controlling fire hose lines under pressure.
And based on the following photos, captured by Deseret News photojournalist Tess Crowley, it looks the next generation of wildfire firefighters are preparing well for their service.
