Utahns love to celebrate the new year, with family, with friends, with community neighbors, so the cool but pleasant weather provided a good backdrop as many gathered around the state to ring in 2026.

The Gateway, in partnership with Downtown Alliance, held a fun, free New Year’s Eve celebration on Wednesday, and as last year became this year, partygoers shared smiles, hugs and lots of laughter.

Last Hurrah 2025 featured live entertainment, festive activities, a vendor village and the city’s only New Year’s Eve fireworks show.

And families and friends enjoyed the outdoor music performances, street performers, family-friendly activities, a vendor village, karaoke and hot chocolate stations.

Following a spirited countdown to 2026, all were treated to a fun fireworks show.
