A snowmobiler has died in an accident in Wasatch County, officials announced Friday.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office said it was called out to a snowmobile accident in the Iron Mile Mountain area, near Woodland, about 11:45 a.m.

Preliminary information from the department’s investigation indicates that a man crashed his snowmobile then became trapped underneath it, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Members of the riding group the man was with found him and started to administer CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

It’s unknown at this time how long the man was underneath the vehicle.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office shared its condolences to the deceased man’s family and loved ones.

His identity was not released.
