Jonathan Swapp, who is awaiting trial on a murder charge stemming from the 13-day standoff at the Singer-Swapp clan's farm in Marion, Summit County, has been married in a jailhouse ceremony, his defense attorney says.
Swapp, 21, married Ann Eaton, 20, of Salem, Utah County, in a 15-minute civil ceremony Tuesday in the Summit County Jail, said lawyer Earl Spafford.Swapp, his brother and clan leader Addam Swapp, 27, and John Timothy Singer, 22, are scheduled to stand trial Dec. 1 on second-degree murder charges in the Jan. 28 death of state Corrections Lt. Fred House.
House was killed in a shootout that ended the standoff, which was triggered when Addam Swapp bombed an LDS chapel near the clan's Marion farm.
Eaton, who reportedly first saw her husband on television, appeared in the gallery daily during his trial in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City.
