SoftSolutions, the developers of software for the law office environment, are moving up - literally.
After 10 years in a basement office in Orem, SoftSolutions employees - happy about moving into a new corporate facility with windows - celebrated the occasion at an open house last week.The new building, located at 625 S. State in Orem, is a three-story 14,000-square-foot facility with enough space for growth.
"We can double in size and still have all the space we need here," said Alvin Tedjamulia, vice president of technology. "We should be comfortable here for two or three years."
SoftSolutions, with 45 employees, develops primary software solutions for larger private law firms, corporate law departments and government law agencies.
The company markets 30 software applications, including applications for time tracking and billing, word processing (with Orem's WordPerfect software as the word processor), docketing, litigation support, office automation and other software applicable to law office environments.
SoftSolutions software runs on Data General mini and superminicomputers, often using personal computers as work stations.
"We have a very strong vertical market," Tedjamulia said. "We have had quite a bit of success and our growth continues."
The company markets its products in the United States, Canada and Australia.
Ronda Shill, marketing coordinator for SoftSolutions, said in the past few years the company has worked at developing the product and now plans to push marketing. "We are really getting a lot of interest nationwide," she said.
Tedjamulia said the company is excited about being close to Brigham Young University because it is a resource for future employees.
"The people are important. It's great to have access to them. This technology is being accepted all over the world and it's all from Orem, Utah."
