A local talk radio station owner, announced his independent write-in candidacy for governor Wednesday, admitting he lacks political experience but pledging honesty.
"I don't have all the answers, obviously. But I'm honest about it," said KZZI owner John Hinton.Hinton, a registered Republican but running as an independent, said he decided to seek the state's highest office after being prompted by listeners on his radio talk show.
Hinton, who came to Utah in 1981, would seek a tax cut if elected governor.

The former U.S. Air Force pilot would consider halving the state's 40 school districts, consolidating those that serve fewer students, and making teacher's retirement benefits more equitable with administrator's benefits.
