Utahns age 65 or older will have admission charges waived this week as Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City celebrates "Senior Citizens Week."

Vickie Pratt, Hogle Zoo office manager, said the special rate will run from Monday through Sunday.Visitors, aside from enjoying cooler weather and sparser crowds, will get a chance to see the zoo's newest resident - a 2-year-old African elephant - along with baby camels, deer, gazelles, bighorn sheep and cougars, Pratt said.

The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
