Forward William Bedford said Friday he is anticipating getting a new start with the Detroit Pistons following his official release from a substance abuse treatment program.

Bedford was released from the Adult Substance Abuse Program in Van Nuys, Calif. Thursday and was cleared by the NBA to rejoin the team.It is the first time Bedford, 25, has been off the NBA's suspension list in the year-and-a-half since his second battle with cocaine dependency. He will continue group therapy at Holly Center and will be monitored by physicians from the Van Nuys facility.
