It was off to jolly old England recently for eight students and two advisers from Utah high schools as an exciting cap to their participation in filming an ad for British Airways.

The English airline had assistance from the Utah Film Commission and the State Office of Education in filming at selected Utah sites. They included the Lake Powell area, Moab, Heber Valley, downtown Salt Lake City and the Bonneville Salt Flats. The company will begin airing the commercial within the next six to eight weeks.Chosen at random from among 4,500 junior and senior high school students in the state to travel to London for an exciting weeklong, fully paid trip were: Angela Perkins, Grantsville High School; Drew Macler, Tooele High; Corrine Zimmerman, Kearns High; Season Johnson, Parowan High; Zerehrena Yazzie, Monument Valley High; Brian Mayo, San Juan High; Jessie Ward, Grand Middle School; Jamie Juhlin, Wasatch High; Robert Bowring, teacher, San Juan High; and Janet Walk, Grantsville High lunchroom worker.

An estimated $250,000 was spent in Utah during filming of the commercial, said Leigh Von der Esch of the Utah Film Commission.
