Actor Timothy Hutton has filed for divorce from actress Debra Winger after 3 1/2 years of marriage and asked for joint custody of their 2-year-old son. Hutton, who starred in the film "Ordinary People," for which he won an Oscar, as well as "The Falcon and the Snowman," and "Taps," cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce, according to court papers filed Thursday. The couple married March 16, 1986, and separated this past May, according to the divorce petition filed by attorney Dennis R. Dubrow. The couple's son, Emanuel Noah Hutton, lives with Winger in Santa Monica. Winger's film credits include "Terms of Endearment," "An Officer and a Gentleman," and "Betrayed." She married Hutton shortly after breaking off a highly publicized romance with then-Gov. Bob Kerrey of Nebraska. Kerrey is now a U.S. senator.
