Joseph William McGinnis, 90, passed away December 29, 1989.
He was born April 12, 1899 in DuBois, Nebraska to Edgar Allen and Caroline Mary McGinnis. Married Eunice Seymour November 29, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. As a young man he lived in Big Piney, Wyoming, later moving to Salt Lake City where he spent the rest of his life. He worked in the automobile industry for 70 years, working for Ken Garff Oldsmobile as sales manager for the last 30 years of his career. As an active member of the LDS Church he held many positions, including Elders Quorum President, High Councilor, and Executive Secretary.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice, of Salt Lake; son, Joseph W. Jr., Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Mrs. Pat Davis, Bondurant, Wyoming; Mrs. JoAnn Cannon, Orem, Utah; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 2nd, 12 noon, at the Ensign 4th Ward Chapel, 9th Avenue & K Street, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
