Kathleen Sullivan has been dropped as co-anchor of "CBS This Morning" as the network struggles to regain a lead in the ratings race, her spokesman said Friday.
Sullivan was a news anchor in Salt Lake City before joining cable and network news organizations.John Scanlon, spokesman for Sullivan, said the early morning anchorwoman had been told by the network she would lose her job on the show but was not informed when. "She's obviously disappointed," Scanlon said. "She has been very pleased with her contributions to the show, but it's a change that management wanted to make at this time."
"Kathleen will cooperate fully at any time, whenever they bring in the new person," he said. "Conversations are beginning with CBS, and we hope she will be able to remain there."
No mention of Sullivan's departure was made during Friday's broadcast from Atlanta.
