The Duchess of York came to the United States on Saturday to visit her stepfather, who is in a New York City cancer hospital.
The stepfather, 51-year-old Hector Barrantes, has been admitted to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where a spokeswoman declined to comment on the nature of his illness Saturday.Barrantes reportedly was flown to New York earlier in the week from his native Argentina.
The duchess, who is eight months pregnant, is the wife of Prince Andrew, second son of Queen Elizabeth II.
