A woman who has dropped 710 pounds in three years is still losing weight through a combination of surgery, diet and exercise.

"I am happy now. Alive, that's how I feel," said Rosemarie Carnemolla, who has slimmed down to 250 pounds.Carnemolla, who lives in Union Vale about 50 miles north of New York City, had surgery in 1987 to reduce the size of her stomach. After 18 months on a liquid diet, she began a diet of three meals a day with a lot of fruit, vegetables and fish.

Since her surgery, the 5-foot-4-inch Carnemolla has seen her 115-inch waist shrink to 44 inches. Her feet, once a size 12EEE, are now a size 7.

"I can buy clothes right off the rack. They're big, but it's still something. I can go out, work, take a walk," said Carnemolla, who had been a binge eater since childhood.

Her weight will drop by 25 pounds next month when doctors operate again to cut off excess skin, she said.

Meanwhile, through diet and exercise, her weight continues to drop. Carnemolla's goal is to get down to 140 pounds.

She swims, bowls, walks and goes to Weight Watchers every week.
