The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has announced the identification of three "river otter territories" on the Colorado River between Moab and Westwater Canyon. And a recent sighting of another pair of otters in Cataract Canyon suggests the possibility of yet another territory.

Three adult females and at least two males are believed to occupy the river above Moab. Officials hope to transplant about 20 otters a year into Utah rivers.
