Roene Bigler DiFiore, age 68, died Saturday, May 19, 1990 in Salt Lake City.
She was born June 25, 1921 at Nephi, Utah to Mark Lisle and Artimisha Nielson DiFiore. She married Carl Fredrick DiFiore May 16, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death December 5, 1971 in San Jose, Calif. A native of Nephi, Roene graduated from Juab High School then increased her learning at Dixie College where she was Student Body vice president. She then graduated from branch agricultural college in 1942. After her marriage she moved to Richfield in 1944 where Mr. DiFiore was manager of Pacific Fruit Farms, near Sigurd, for 11 years. They lived in Payson from 1955-1961. Roene was an assistant professor of music at Dixie College, serving on the faculty since 1967. Lovingly known as "Mrs. D," her Program Bureau was known far and wide performing for church, civic, academic and professional groups in Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California.Surviving family members include one sister, Mrs. Darrel (Carolyn) Gubler of Las Vegas, NV; and many sons and daughters from the Program Bureau.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 1990, at 11 a.m., at the St. George Tabernacle. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Dixie College Fine Arts Center and again on Saturday at the Tabernacle from 9-10:30 a.m., prior to services. In lieu of flowers, friends may, if they wish, contribute to the Roene DiFiore Endowment, c/o Dixie College Alumni Committee. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
