Owners unanimously approved the sale of the San Diego Padres to a group headed by Los Angeles television producer Tom Werner.

Werner is general managing partner of the group, which was expanded from 10 members to 15 members on Monday. They are buying the Padres for $75 million from Joan B. Kroc.
