A dump truck carrying gravel apparently lost its brakes as it was heading down Big Cottonwood Canyon Monday morning, slammed into a mountain and rolled.

No one was injured in the accident, but fuel from the truck spilled onto the road near Storm Mountain and forced Salt Lake County deputy sheriffs to close the road for about three hours.A construction company is building a sewer line from the base of the canyon to Solitude ski resort. Deputies said the driver had a choice of driving into the creek, into oncoming traffic or into the mountain.

The company contained the leak by building a small dam of dirt around the fuel.
