Earl Lionel Wasden, age 81, died August 7, 1990 in Salt Lake City, from complications following surgery.

Born November 14, 1908, in Scipio, Utah to O. Earl and Lizzie May Bradfield Wasden. Married Edith Peterson May 25, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Millard High School and attended Snow College where he was active in athletics and music. He was active in church and civic affairs while living in Scipio. He moved to Salt Lake City with his family in 1947. At the time of his death he was a High Priest in the Yalecrest 1st Ward. He developed many interests and hobbies after his retirement, either tooling and playing the mandolin being among them. He loved music and had a beautiful high tenor voice. His family and church were always most important to him.Surviving him are his devoted wife, Edith, Salt Lake City; son, LaMar, Scipio and Salt Lake City, Utah; daughters, Mamie Lue Wasden, Salt Lake City; Sandra W. Crowell, son-in-law Rudy B. Crowell, Bountiful, Utah; six grandchildren, Tracy, Rory, Jeffrey, Shannon Crowell, Brady Crowell serving an LDS Mission in Tokyo, Japan, and Kevin Wasden serving LDS Mission in Osorno, Chile; one brother, Lloyd Wasden, Scipio, Utah; sister, Mrs. Thelma Petersen, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Wasden; and a sister, Mrs. Melva Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11th, 12 Noon, in the Yalecrest 1st Ward, 1835 South 1800 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Friday 6-8 pm, and Saturday at the ward one hour prior to services. Interment in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
