President Ezra Taft Benson, 91-year-old leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is in serious but stable condition, LDS Hospital officials said Friday night.

President Benson underwent surgery Wednesday to relieve pressure on the brain caused by a blood clot or other fluids.The LDS Church leader entered the hospital Tuesday afternoon and is expected to remain hospitalized several more days, according to church spokesman Don LeFevre.
