Showplace Novelty and Magic will showcase world champion magician Michael Ammar at the Crossroads Plaza on Monday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
Ammar will demonstrate magic techniques and give a lecture on professional magic. Tickets are available at Showplace Novelty and Magic, located on level three of the mall. Admission is $20 per person.As a performer, Ammar has appeared twice on "The Tonight Show" and has made 10 appearances on "The Merv Griffin Show." He has performed privately in the homes of Hugh Hefner and Michael Jackson and has served as magic consultant for David Copperfield and Doug Henning's television specials.
Ammar has also written seven best-selling books on original magic and has appeared in 23 instructional video tapes. He also publishes The Magical Arts Journal. He has received many honors and awards in the field of magic.
Showplace Novelty and Magic, a tenant in Crossroads Plaza since 1985, specializes in magician supplies, juggling supplies and ventriloquist dolls, in addition to novelties.
Local magicians are invited to attend the event.
