Seagull Book & Tapes, a company specializing in the sale of books and tapes about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has expanded its out-of-state acquisitions with stores in Dallas and Los Angeles. The company has nine stores in Utah, one in Arizona and the two new ones.

The 2,400-square-foot LDS Pavilion Bookstore in Los Angeles and the 4,800-square-foot Moon's LDS Bookstores in Dallas have been changed to Seagull. Prior to the change, the two stores grossed more than $2 million in annual sales.Greg Kofford, Seagull president, said there won't be much change in inventory and management in the newly acquired stores. The company will phase in Seagull's discount pricing structure, which will lower prices immediately.

The operation of the new stores will be directed from Utah corporate offices.
