Third-seeded Brad Gilbert beat top-seeded Andre Agassi 6-1, 6-2 on Saturday to gain a finals berth against Darren Cahill of Australia in the Volvo-San Francisco tennis tournament.

The sixth-seeded Cahill took nearly two hours to turn back fellow Australian Davis Cup teammate Wally Masur, the No. 7 seed, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.It was the first time in three meetings that Cahill, a doubles expert, has beaten Masur.
