The team that refuses to die was revived one more time Monday, as the American Professional Soccer League agreed to support the Salt Lake Sting for another week.

Last week, the APSL imposed a deadline of Monday for getting an agreement worked out with a group of prospective owners led by Steve Macklyn. But that deadline came and went Monday with certain crucial details still unresolved. Now, APSL co-chairman Bill Sage says that another prospective buyer emerged over the weekend, although he declined to identify the buyer.

"There's another party we're having discussions with, so we've moved the deadline to later this week," said Sage. "We're giving it every opportunity to get a resolution to keep the team in Salt Lake.".

Encouraged by the interest, then, the APSL extended its financial commitment by funding the Sting's road trip to Albany (N.Y.) and Penn-Jersey this weekend.
