Marian Woodbury Gold, age 76 died July 13, 1991 in Bountiful Utah.
Born September 16, 1914, St George, Utah to Angus Munn and Grace Atkin Woodbury. Moved to Salt Lake where attended East High School. Marian graduated from University of Utah with B.S. degree in Zoology 1936 and M.S., 1938. Married A. Herbert Gold on July 21, 1940, Berkeley California; he died June 8, 1984. Resided in Berkeley until January of 1990. Sealed to Herbert in the Ogden LDS Temple October 1990. Active in the LDS Church. Employed as laboratory technician at the University of California, Berkeley. Actively participated in several womens groups through the University and was especially fond of time spent assisting Foreign Students in transition through their studies. She enjoyed her work and the opportunities afforded her to meet a variety of people. Marian will be missed by her family and great numbers of friends. Was a resident at the Life Care Center in Bountiful, Utah. The family would like to thank all those who made her time there enjoyable and comfortable.Survived by her son and daughter, John "Sandy" Gold (Paulette) and five children, of Livermore, California; and Grace Goff (Ken) and two children, of West Valley City; three brothers, Max Woodbury, Durham, North Carolina; Dixon Woodbury, Bountiful; Walter Woodbury, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, parents and sister, Edith Pendleton.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 17, 1991 at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary Chapel, 295 North Main, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the A. Herbert and Marian W. Gold Scholarship Fund, University fo Utah.
